In 1888, a hundred years after the arrival of the First Fleet
, Sir Henry Parkes (1815-1896) Premier of NSW
, dedicates the Centennial Parklands area to the public. The Centennial Parklands is made up of three parks: Moore Park, Queens Park and Centennial Park, counting over 360 hectares

In the Centennial Parklands you can find a lot of sport facilities such as golf course, athletics track, tennis courts, equestrian centre and these are just to count a few.
The Centennial Parklands are also hosting the Fox Studios Australia and are the place where different events are organized: Circus, concerts, outdoor cinema, etc.

Four days a year are declared Car Free Days, and you are not allowed to use the car on the internal roads of the park. Car Free Days are on the last Sunday of every season.
